Anthony Howe

Qualifications: LL.B, ACII, FCIArb, Solicitor (non-practising), CEDR accredited mediator.

Tony read law at Southampton University. After graduating, he spent three years with Legal & General Insurance Society Ltd. In 1979 he joined A. Bilbrough & Co being appointed as a Director in 1980. In 1986, Tony was instrumental in setting up Collegiate. He is now CEO of the Collegiate Group .

Mark Gibbon
Managing Director

Qualifications: LL.B, FCA, AFPC, CTA

Mark read law at Newcastle University before embarking on a career in the accountancy profession. He has held senior management positions in both large and small accountancy practices before joining Collegiate at the end of 1994. He is Group Managing Director with overall responsibility for managing the business, and was previously the Finance Director.

Martin Archer
Director Legal and Claims

Qualifications: LL.B, Solicitor (non-practising)

Martin read law at University College Cardiff and qualified as a Solicitor with Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, a well regarded insurance firm specialising in Professional Indemnity, defending negligence claims against a range of professionals but in particular solicitors, accountants and architects. He moved in-house with Save & Prosper and then BUPA before joining Collegiate Management Services Ltd in April 1995.

Richard Turnbull
Underwriting Director

Qualifications: B Sc Hons, Cert PFS, CeMAP

Richard read Biology and Geography at Brighton University, before embarking on a career as a Financial Adviser for Cornhill Life. In 1999 he joined the then PIA Ombudsman and stayed through the transition into the Financial Ombudsman Service before moving into the IFA compliance field, working both as a Compliance Officer and Complaints Manager for 2 national IFA firms. Richard was recruited by CMS to apply his IFA and regulatory experience in the underwriting field and has been the Underwriting Manager since January 2005.

Dave Forman
Underwriter

Dave joined the IFA underwriting team in March 2007. Dave was previously an Account Executive for Lloyds broking house PYV specialising in IFAs. Dave has over 7 years experience in the London market and previously worked for HSBC placing D&O, EL & PL, before moving to Howden Insurance Brokers where he worked as account handler placing overseas D&O. Dave is currently studying his Cert CII.

Ben Randall
Underwriter

Qualifications: HND, B.Sc.(Hons)

Ben completed a HND in Mechanical Engineering and BSc in Technology Management at Oxford Brookes University, before embarking on a career in professional indemnity insurance. He worked at PI Direct (which became Martello Group and is now part of R&SA) for 8 years where he gained a wealth of experience as he worked his way to deputy underwriting manager. Ben joined Collegiate Underwriting in 2007 and writes all of our traditional and miscellaneous professions PII.

Richard Rugg
Account Manager

Qualifications: LL.B, ACII

Graduated in Law from the City of London Polytechnic in 1987. Worked in legal expenses insurance prior to joining Collegiate in 1989, since which time he has specialised in PI for insurance brokers and financial advisers.

Clare Bunting
Assistant Underwriter

Clare Bunting joined Collegiate in April 2006 as an administrator for the Underwriting department. Prior to this she worked at ADVO Group, a Health Insurance Intermediary, Clare joined ADVO Group in September 2003 where she worked as a Sales Administrator.

Yvonne Gray
Administrator

Yvonne joined Collegiate in June 2006 as an Administrator within the Broker Division of Collegiate and now works in the Underwriting Department. Previously Yvonne completed a course in Pitman’s secretarial/administration and worked for 6 years at a Lloyd’s Broker as PA to the Managing Director.
